Relative Adjectives

The adjectives that are used to modify nouns and introduce relative clauses are called Relative Adjectives.

What, which, whatever, and whichever are relative adjectives and they stand before a noun.

 

Examples for Relative Adjective ‘What’

 

  1. He did not say what help he wanted from me.
  2. They clearly stated what certificates we should take to the interview.
  3. Can you tell me what programme you are going to participate in?
  4. The Prime Minister announced what care the people had to take.
  5. Can you tell me what languages he speaks?

 

Examples for Relative Adjective ‘Which’

 

  1. I don’t know which city she likes to live in.
  2. Do you remember which system you operated last week?
  3. Would you tell me which software is the best for online classes?
  4. Do you know which course is helpful to you?
  5. She doesn’t decide which train to take.

 

Examples of ‘ Whatever and Whichever’

 

  1. Whatever decision you take, I can support you.
  2. Whatever luggage you bring, you will have a separate room for that.
  3. Whichever car you purchase, we would offer one-year maintenance free.
  4. I shall encourage you, whichever career you choose.
